PM2.5 Forecast for Beijing – Saturday, January 11, 2014

It looks like Saturday will be a day for unhealthy air quality.  After the increase in pollution on Friday evening, we should see continued increases overnight, then some reduction in PM2.5 in the early morning hours.  After noon, the pollution may accumulate for a few more hours before the skies start to clear late in the evening.

EXTENDED FORECAST

SUNDAY, January 12:  We have a good chance of seeing clear skies between early and mid-morning on Sunday, but that trend should reverse in the afternoon, leaving us with higher AQI values in the afternoon and evening.

MONDAY, January 13: We could have slightly lower PM2.5 levels in the morning, but it is unlikely that we will see AQI values below Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.  Then after lunch, we should see the pollution begin to accumulate again.

TUESDAY, January 14:  Tuesday looks like a repeat of Monday, with lower pollution levels in the morning then increasing pollution in the afternoon.
